OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create a vibrant, supportive community where exploration, curiosity, and experimentation are at the heart of every artistic endeavor. We provide a nurturing environment that encourages individuals to delve into their creativity, confront emotional challenges, and reconnect with the authentic parts of themselves through the therapeutic qualities of art. By offering diverse artistic experiences and workshops, we aim to foster a sanctuary where everyone is invited to reflect, heal, and rediscover the joy of creation and genuine connection.
OUR SPACE
We embrace the transformative power of art to heal and reveal the joy of our inner child.
We strive to create a safe space for minority communities to support emotional growth, personal exploration, and collaboration. We aim to eliminate the stigma around mental health in black and brown communities through educational workshops, art events, collaborative projects, and community building. Our goal is to boost confidence and celebrate individuality across all age groups.
OUR WHY
Mental Health
- Black American adults are 20% more likely to experience serious mental health problems, such as major depressive disorder or generalized anxiety disorder.
- Approximately 50% to 75% of youth in the juvenile justice system meet the criteria for a mental health disorder.
Community & Collaboration
- Being part of a community can reduce loneliness, boost feelings of support and purpose, and enhance confidence.
- Emphasizing collaboration and unity, we believe that together we can achieve more than we can alone.
Arts & Crafts
- Art serves as a widely embraced method for reducing stress, exploring emotions, and promoting relaxation.
- Through art, individuals can express and work through emotions stemming from life challenges and trauma, initiating the healing journey and fostering resilience.
Education
- Engaging in artistic activities can help the youth engage in social and emotional learning, aiding them in learning how to regulate emotions and show empathy towards others.
- Hosting creative workshops that cultivate developmental themes can be more enjoyable and engaging compared to a conventional learning environment.
Self Authenticity
- Social norms create challenges for people to express themselves genuinely, as they fear the impact of "cancel culture", making it harder to live authentically.
- Being authentic means harmonizing actions with one's genuine self and upholding personal values and characteristics.
